Recipe: Pasta Sauce

The canteen is vegetarian so we are unable to use meat . We try and source the freshest produce . Our vegetables are delivered twice a week from the Sydney markets . We have beautiful pasture eggs from a company called Papanui. The eggs come from chickens that have been raised outdoors and not in cages . We use organic unbleached flour and wholemeal flour in our cakes , cookies , muffins and banana bread. We try and use as little sugar in our baked goods . Everything is made fresh in the canteen. One of our favourite items is our pasta sauce, students and teachers love it on pasta and toasted in pitas and bagels.
Recipe: Pasta Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic finely chopped
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- Handful of basil
- Handful of flat leaf parsley
Method
- In a pot fry garlic until golden , add the tomatoes and herbs and let the sauce simmer for about half an hour
- Blend all the ingredients together with a stick blender
- Serve on pasta
- You've now got pasta sauce YUMMY
